  2. Hi, I am in the process of replacing the timing chain and sprockets on my 2015 Pulsar (70k miles). I'm now at the point of taking the sprockets off the camshafts but not sure how I do this. Is is just the bolt in the centre of each sprocket that needs undoing? Standard thread for both? I also now need a workshop manual to find all the torque settings as part of the rebuild. Can anyone provide a link or suggest a good manual to buy? Of course, if anyone has a list of the torque settings they could share, that would be perfect! Finally - any ideas what may have caused the chain and sprockets to wear at this low mileage? The chain had stretched and was noisy. On removal I've noticed the tensioner was ok but the chain was clearly stretched and all sprockets are well worn - particularly on the crankshaft. I have only owned the car for the last 2 years and the car had been regularly serviced prior to that. Sorry for all the questions on my first post but I appreciate all responses. Thanks

  4. Hi all, I have a 2013 D40 Tekna with a factory-fitted reversing camera which is sited under the handle to open the boot/cargo area. The handle has broken and I cannot find a replacement anywhere. All the ones I can find are standard, without a cutout for the camera, which won't fit - I have attached pictures to show the cutout. Has anyone ever had to replace their handle, and been able to find a suitable replacement?

  6. Hello all, I am new to here and hope you can help, my qashqai has developed this issue when starting in the morning, it struggles to start with a funny turning over sound and eventually when it starts there is alot of white smoke and it idles rough but once it is warm it runs perfectly but with still a bit of smoke, I have been looking around the net, I have seen leaking or faulty injector a clogged up PCV valve I did have the Egr valve changed last year that’s all good. It dose feel like it has loss of power but the turn dose feel like it kick still. When it’s warm it sound spot on, by the way it has done 117k,
  7. Hello. I’m new to the forum. Can anyone help? my 2007 pathfinder (my pride and joy) has started requiring me to randomly unlock it from the passenger side and then silence the alarm with the fob. Normally it works fine from the fob or the door buttons but then it randomly stops working. Once unlocked it goes back to working again for a while. I’ve changed batteries etc but I am out of ideas. Thank you

  9. Hello. I need to remove the original rear vision mirror mount from my nissan pulsar c12 2013 model as the mirror has broken off the mount and I need to replace it with a universal replacement and a glue strip. The mount is glued on and not clipped like the modern mirrors. I have tried breaking the seal gently with a screwdriver and blade but it has damaged the glass on the underside of windscreen. The cracks have not reached the upper surface. I have now tried using string to cut into the seal but i cannot cut right through the seal and it is shearing on glass fragments. I'm wary of using the hairdryer to soften the glue as it may cause more cracks. Any suggestions please? I had thought of using solvent but not sure which is best for this older adhesive. My options are: Fishing line/piano wire to saw through the seal Solvent Heat Go to nissan/rear mirror replacement shop Fix glass Remove old mount or install new mirror above

  14. I got a good set of used tires (4) and put em on there. $85 for just mount and balance but that’s how it rolls. Wierdest experience ever leaving the tire shop. Truck was clattering along like one or more tires seriously out of balance. I was like dreading having to go back and force the issue(s). And then within a few miles at moderate speeds the clattering went away entirely and then smooth running. Like? But that works. They put double balance weights on each wheel. They have the push ins at the inside of the wheel at the tire. And they have glue ons inside the spokes to the outside of the tire. In three cases, the weights are pretty much opposite each other on the wheels! I never saw anything like that before. Like they balanced each wheel twice? This is a very experienced tire shop, for the record. 😯

  16. UPDATE Can anyone tell me if this photo shows that the engine management light bulb is actually missing? If so can this be replaced or do I need a whole new unit? Thanks
  17. Hi. Just reg’d on here. My aunt just bought from a dealer, a 2013 ‘30th Ed’ 1.2 Micra - manual drive (which I’ve just discovered from online world is a K13, though the paperwork doesn’t state this. I drive this myself. When viewing, I asked the dealer what the thin plastic tape wrapped around a rubber pipe (possibly a manifold pipe? - sits just behind the rad’ fan and attaches somewhere under the battery plate…?) is about. He felt it and stated there’s a crack/split in the pipe and that they’d have it replaced. Before collection, by phone, the dealer advised that it wasn’t a split pipe and so doesn’t need replacing. Typhoon, I forgot what his colleague told us about it when we got there, though the gist of it was that it’s normal/standard. What they had done is replaced the thin ad-hoc looking tape with black plastic (insulation ?) tape. Any thoughts on this (tricky w/o a photo I know; can attach one tomorrow). Any K13 owners/drivers out there who recognise this? Thanks in advance.
  18. Cant find a replacement for it and no windscreen wipers mean can't drive it!
  19. Update: This it was raining today. I realized I never reconnected the drainage tube in the bottom/side of the luggage compartment so I went outside to check. What I found was: 1) The bottom of the tube (blue arrow), disconnected from the valve that goes through the metal wall of the car and into the wheel well, was not wet and there was no water pooling in the bottom of the car. This tells me the water wasn’t reaching the end of the line so it must be kinked or plugged upstream. But remember, I successfully ran a nylon string trimmer cable through the entire tube and found no evidence of dirt clogging the tube. 2) the headliner was the wettest right around the hinge for the cargo access door (red arrow). I could see a drip falling from the metal directly above it, as well as a drip running from the same piece of metal to the left, behind the upper cargo side panel trim. If the leak were coming from the moon roof drain, I don’t understand why it would be so wet all the way back where it is. Are there any other areas where water could enter on top of the car around the cargo door? The antenna for instance? It can’t be the door seal itself because the drip is above the door seal. A leak in the back of the roof still wouldn’t explain the dry end of the tube tube in the lower side panel/floor trim…
  20. Does anyone know why, when I disconnect and reconnect the battery my hardtop opens and closes perfectly, but, when I come to open it next day it won't open until I disconnect and reconnect the battery again
  21. Hi Mike, I have for sale a 2006 uk 350z with 20300 miles, and only 1 previous owner. Totaly standard car in genuinely pristine condition
  22. Thanks for giving us feedback on your Juke - its always worth hearing the bad as well as the good points to give a fair assessment of a vehicle. The Jukes have always been a high revving engine due to the transmission gearing but they are better being run at higher revs most of the time to keep the engine from carbon/sooting up, etc
  23. Sounds like water ingress into the electronics or sensors (not sure how deep the water was). If it is allowed to dry out in the sun then possibly it may work then.
  24. Hi again. I took the car for a retest today after having changed spark plugs and oil and adding additive. Emissions are now fine, however, it brought up a previous fault code P03033 which was still on the system although the engine check light was not lit. It turns out that the engine check light never comes on. The centre will not pass the car until I get this sorted. Any advice please?

  27. This is more than likely from the front underside but worth looking underneath at both ends to ensure that your undershield is present at the front/rear
  28. possibly the DPF trying to regenerate but something is stopping the process - check all necessary conditions with the process (e.g. fuel tank of fuel, higher RPM for set period, etc)
  29. I tend to enter details into EuroCarParts or eBay sites to see if they are listing belt or chain for each engine type If in doubt about belt replacement history then changing it is the best way forward
