  1. Well done, that is superb and obviously driven correctly to last that long
  2. How are you getting on with the Serena ?
  3. Crikey that's an unusual fault. I wonder why the pump went out of timing - either something is worn (timing chain) or it was incorrectly timed in the past and was on the threshold and then dropped off the edge Thank you for sharing the rectification of this fault....you never know, someone else may benefit from it in the future.
  4. Look on EuroCarParts website where you can put your registration number in and look up flywheel and see what it is described as Welcome to put screenshot of your findings on here and we can look to see if it is DMF
  5. Try https://www.wingmirrorman.co.uk/ they may have a replacement glass listed
  6. Try this procedure, I have successfully used this for an X-Trail key before Insert the key into the ignition, but don't start the car, then remove the key. Do this about six times, although it can take up to 10 times. When your car accepts the Key, the hazard lights will flash twice. Now you're in program mode.
  7. Thanks for letting us know, always good to know the outcome
  8. If one of the earth straps was corroded then check any other ones that are there....it is quite common for this sort of fault to occur due to poor earths Also check the battery terminals are tight and corrosion free Let us know what you find
  9. I would check the battery terminals and leads, particularly the earth leads from the battery to engine, engine to chassis and see if the connections are sound

Here is the recommended oil specs from Castrol's oil selector website https://www.castrol.com/en_gb/united-kingdom/home/car-engine-oil-and-fluids/motor-oil-and-fluids-finder.html?page=recommendedProducts&id=fad0159f87e193587b0679b34fa9f56c
  11. Scrapyards are the best bet for a replacement axle due to the age of the car. There should be plenty around so wouldn't be difficult to find one
  12. It may be worth completely filling the tank for a while so that it dilutes the mix Otherwise it may just need a good run up the motorway for an extended period in a lower gear to keep the revs up for it to regenerate
  13. Sounds familiar but not all the engines suffer from it so not sure why this particular one The 1.6 petrol is a very strong engine and pretty much trouble free
  14. Samco are a company that specialise in Silicon hoses so they can provide different diameters and lengths and you can also get couplings and adapters to make up your own hoses
  15. There should be a voltage stabiliser within the fuel gauge electrical system which will control the gauge but this may have gone faulty
  16. Through the bulkhead using an existing rubber grommet which you can access and feed through the wire(s)
  17. Sounds like loose connections but where is another question all together
  18. Was there any possibility that the battery terminals were reversed or the positive lead connected last?
  19. I think the battery is showing signs of age Classic reason for the stop/start to go offline is the first signs of battery degradation so if its an original one then it may be long overdue for replacement The locking fault may also then be resolved if the battery is replaced
  20. Good luck with it and let us know how you get on with it
  21. Possibly 'Trip A' and there would be 'Trip B' also if selected? Not sure but that's my first thought as you say it is in the mileage display area
  22. Will it connect via bluetooth instead?
  23. Blimey it does sound like it is possessed 🙂 maybe you need to call in a priest The first thing I would look at is the battery terminals are secure and free from contamination and then check all the leads from it (particularly the earth leads) If any of the earth leads are damaged then this may be one of the reasons If in doubt then take it to an auto-electrician for them to diagnose Let us know how you get on with it
  24. It should show on the fusebox cover But I would be more concerned as to why the fuse has blown
