  1. I would change the engine oil immediately if it is diluted (with diesel) as this can lead to a 'runaway engine' which means the engine oil gets sucked into the combustion chamber and then gets burnt, leading to the engine being able to run on after the engine is switched off, consuming it's own engine oil until it goes bang! If the oil is diluted with diesel fuel then the injectors are possibly leaking/misfuelling which is causing the fuel to leak into the engine oil sump, diluting the oil. Before changing the fuel, I would definitely take it to a diesel specialist who will quickly be able to diagnose the fault and this is more than likely why it is excessively smoking. As for the 4WD situation....are all the prop/drive shafts present...or have one been removed?
  2. Yes, agree...they seem to be quite popular lately
  3. Hi Richard....welcome to the Forum Congratulations on your new car...I think you'll be pleased with it, they're a good little car Cheers Trevor
  4. I would check the throttle potentiometer for a wiring fault...wiggle the wiring to check for poor connections
  5. Hi...welcome to the Forum Sounds like a wiring or body control fault....or could even be a poor earth. Either way, I would take it to an Auto Electrician to check out. I very rarely use the horn either...don't often need to. Cheers Trevor
  6. I think that your suggestion should work fine as the hot water should automatically circulate and find its own way around the system even if you do link it up. Always best to measure the circulating water temperature with a infra-red temperature gun http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Handheld-LCD-Digital-Temperature-Thermometer-Laser-Non-Contact-IR-Infrared-Gun-/131919872146?hash=item1eb7098092:g:pJwAAOSwEzxYWQXd
  7. Hi Peter...welcome to the Forum Would love to see some piccies of the 350Z...sounds like an incredible machine! If you want to start listing the problems (1 by 1) then we can see if we can find a solution to them Cheers Trevor
  8. Totally understand where you're coming from...I'm the same but I draw the line at when it comes to special tools and diagnostic software updates (special tools again!) then got to concede to the specialists for those jobs....or spend a fortune on the tools. Good luck
  9. Hi I would highly recommend taking the vehicle to the dealership for the first few services to keep the service history updated and also to benefit from any recall/updates that may have been released since the vehicle was last in for service. Nowadays, there are a lot of special tools for removal of components and it you cannot see anything obvious on the oil filter housing then quite possibly there is a special tool for this.
  10. Hi You should have some sort of point of entry to the cooling system and as such it should be at the highest point in the engine bay to allow for expansion. On the original car it still would have had one so it should be a case of utilising your original expansion tank and connect it up to the new engine
  11. I would replace the belt if it has approached that mileage and time period as a matter of course and not take the chance
  12. The rear seats should fold down and allow you to access the tailgate from inside. From there you could remove the inner lining and access the latch mechanism
  13. Hi Chris....welcome to the Forum It sounds like a classic case of faulty glow plug(s), I would have them checked for resistance and replace the faulty one(s)...shouldn't be too expensive Cheers Trevor
  14. Hi Andy I'm personally not sure about the configuration but probably best to find one at a used car sales yard to have a play with and see how it all works Cheers Trevor
  15. I would recommend taking it to an auto electrician as it could be many things causing it...
  16. Hi James...welcome to the Forum I would not advise driving a car with any red warning lamp, although amber is generally okay. However, it appears to be a fault in the ABS / Stability system which shouldn't affect the performance of the car. If it affected the braking then I would be concerned and if it affected the performance (e.g. going into Limp Home mode) then again it is a dangerous concern. Let us know what they find Cheers Trevor
  17. Hi Steve Found this link which may give you an explanation https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=A9mSs3dAbq1Yn2kAx3VLBQx.;_ylu=X3oDMTEydmVva3VqBGNvbG8DaXIyBHBvcwMzBHZ0aWQDQjM0NThfMQRzZWMDc3I-?qid=20071021085831AAT0uzk&p=nissan micra blue thermo light
  18. Bonjour Christophe
  19. Hi IanC...welcome to the Forum I wouldn't know where to start to find one for you...I could only advise trying to find someone who has a range of cables to compare yours with....it would only have to be the same size ends to work, doesn't matter about the length Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

  21. Hi Steve...welcome to the Forum The Micra C+C is a great little car and especially with the nice summer we're supposed to be having :-) Cheers Trevor
  22. Hi and welcome to the Forum The Tekna is a good car but thoroughly check out whether it has full dealer service history to ensure all recalls and updates have been carried out. A lot of Nissans tend to suffer from electrical gremlins so worth checking all the controls and switches work okay. Cheers Trevor
  23. Hi George...welcome to the Forum Not entirely sure if the sills will fit but more than likely some of it could be used to repair the corroded sections. Best to scour the internet for suppliers of older Nissan parts. Good luck Trevor
  24. Hi...welcome to the Forum Strange one with the glow plugs, unless they're not designed to operate under -5 degrees (I doubt it though)...just hope it doesn't drop that low again for a while. Let us know if you find out anything else about it Cheers Trevor
