Hi Ivan...welcome to the Forum I think your theory about the MAF sensor is about right..you should just be able to replace the sensor itself as opposed to the housing it is within...slightly cheaper sometimes! Definitely check fault codes first to see if there is mention of the MAF sensor. Cheers Trevor

Hi Susan....welcome to the Forum It sounds very much like a Crankshaft Position Sensor or a similar engine rotation sensor which can fail when hot, once cool then the engine starts and runs fine. Alternatively, a broken wire or corroded electrical connection somewhere in the fuel or ignition system. Sorry, can't be more specific but it sounds like a generic intermittent fault. Its difficult to tell from the image as its a bit blurred but rule of thumb is yellow lamp is a cautionary warning and it is more than likely for the rear belts. Worth plugging them in to see if it disappears.

Sorry, not sure but it will probably come out with brute force if you're not worried about keeping it.

Hi Lou....welcome to the Forum I think the coolant sensor is the culprit....usually is when cold starts are involved The sensor should have 2 wires going to it, if there is one with one wire it is more than likely the one for the temperature gauge. It should be located on the end of the cylinder head with a large(ish) connector attached to it Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

Probably go on like that for years...but you could try adding some cleaner additive to the fuel...that may help

I would take it back to them for diagnostic test on the key and the vehicle...do you have another key you can try?

Unfortunately, when the chain or tensioner decides to go it will just go and take the engine with it. If it was me I would fit the old sensor and run the car until it expired....which could be years

Hi....welcome to the Forum I would say that you have two faults there. 1. the camshaft sensor may be faulty or if the ECU has adapted to the signals from the old sensor. 2. the mechanic may be right with the stretched chain diagnosis as when the camshaft(s) goes out of synch with the crankshaft because of slack in the chain / belt then this can throw up the fault. I would certainly get the chain checked before it goes as Nissan timing chains breaking / slipping are a big issue. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

Hi Dave....welcome to the Forum Funnily enough I have just been discussing replacement seats in a Micra with another member Although I would imagine that the seats from many other cars in the Nissan range may fit (after initial measurement of the runners, etc) there may be an issue of side airbags and pretensioners not being the same resistances and possibly flagging an error. I think it may be a case of going to the scrapyards and trying a few to see if anything fits and doesn't flag an error. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

All they would have done by the sound of it is to hardwire the connections which generally cause the SRS light to illuminate ... which is fair enough. However, if they are different seats they may have different resistance in the airbag/pretensioners which could be causing the light to illuminate?

Hi Luke maybe worth taking it apart completely and looking to see if there is any water ingress or if the microswitches have fallen off (quite common)

I would imagine it is a permanent fault if the light is on permanently. quite possibly it is not sensing one of the seats (or both) aren't connecting properly with the system. I would start by looking at the connections under the seats

Welcome to the Forum It sounds like a Catalytic Converter emitting the smell of sulphur but why only in reverse? Unless you are covering ground where the smell is being emitted (e.g. from the exhaust which you wouldn't smell if you are travelling forwards) ?

I would say that if the condition of the car is very good and the service history is complete and by reputable repairers then it sound okay. Again, the above is applicable to the mileage and also consider how the mileage has been generated (e.g. town or motorway). Let us know how it goes Cheers Trevor

Hi Matty...welcome to the Forum the heater temperature will come down with the heater being on but as long as it is within range (e.g. 80-90 degrees C) then i wouldn't worry too much about it. Cheers Trevor
