Boot will not open

Can anyone tell me the best way to get the boot open on a 53 plate Micro, the central locking work it just stopped unlocking the boot.

I have the same. problem on a 2005 Micra S; central locking working on and the boot will not open; is this a common problem?

Advice please; any advice would be very much appreciated. If I had to take it to a dealer how much would it cost to repair?

I tried to access the boot from the rear seats with no success.
