Helicule Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Hello all! First post, so apologies if this should go elsewhere. On Monday evening, on the A3 Guildford Bypass, this happened: Coming around the bend and over the hill, I was faced with a queue of stationary traffic. I hit the brakes, but alas — one damaged Subaru Impreza, one smashed-up Micra, and two young men with a slight pain in the neck. The crumple zone worked like a dream; everything from the mirrors back is intact. It's still driveable over short distances, although the engine bay is buckled and clear fluid is dripping from somewhere. The recovery man seemed to think that, since the airbag deployed, it's almost certainly a write-off — although the cost of repairs began to outweigh the cost of the car long before I rounded the bend. I inherited it from my mother; the interior, the greenhouse, and (most of the) bodywork is still in very good condition, so it seems a shame to scrap it. The insurance company has threatened to take it for assessment on Monday, in which case I doubt I'll see it again. A friend pointed me toward your forum, saying that K11s are somewhat sought-after as donor cars — is this the case, and, if so, how much am I bid? Many more photographs available on request, as well as full service history and the like.
