Terence Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Just purchased my first Nissan, very pleased with it, 2007 X-Trail with 33K on the clock and in showroom condition. How ever I am very disappointed with the fuel consumption 22-24mpg arouns town etc. Urban mpg stated as 38mpg, not expecting that my milage very low. I have changed the fuel filter that increased it to what it is now. It has been serviced regularly. Interim service performed recently. Are there any technicians that may be able to suggest other possible cures. Tyre tread are within legal requirements Traveling abroad soon so would like to increase mpg Regards
Trevor Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Hi Terence...and welcome to the club! I am assuming that you have the petrol engine X-Trail? Either way, that's a considerable amount less MPG from published figures. Regards, Trevor - Admin
Terence Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 Hi Trevor, Thanks for your response Things have looked up since the post. I have been to a Nissan Dealer in Bristol for a recall on an engine bearing.?? However my chassis Not was not one that required it. I asked while it was in the workshop if they would consider the poor fuel consumtion on my Diesel X-trail. Good news they made some adjustments, where I do not know, but they test drove it and stated it would be better than 30mpg. I travelled home approx 7 miles and glad to say I registered 33 mpg a great increase of 35.5 %. This will be very acceptable as I am travelling the continent towing a caravan on Friday Regards
Trevor Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 That's a great result! Huge increase for an adjustment..probably a remap on the ECU? Enjoy the continent :-)
