Basso
My daughters 2002 1.0l K11 SE has parking sensors fitted. When the car is put in reverse, there is a beep, but the sensors do not activate. Any idea what I can do to fix this, where on the car should I check? Thanks
Trevor
You should switch the ignition on (engine off) and put into reverse gear. Listen closely to each sensor and if they are working then they should emit a clicking sound. If not, then replace the sensor
Basso
Thanks for the reply. Does that mean if none of them click they are all U/S? None of them respond when reversing at the moment, although we do get the beep on going into reverse. Is there a control module somewhere that might not be working? Trevor
It is a very faint clicking noise you should hear but I doubt all the sensors are faulty. If it bleeps when you put it in reverse then the system is working to a degree (e.g. it is activating and the reverse switch is working) so if the sensors are okay then it must be a faulty module. Worth checking the reverse light bulb is working while you're carrying out checks
