airbag
Hello folks, I am sure yer all sick of hearing about airbag light faults etc, but the problem with mine I can't find any info about anywhere. The airbag light is staying on permanently, not flashing like most problems people have with them. The car was not crashed, the only thing that seemed to set it off was the seats were removed cleaning under them without having the battery disconnected. The connections were checked multiple times and the fuse etc but the light stays on. I disconnected the battery for over an hour to see if the ecu resets itself but to no avail. I had a diagnostic technician plug the car in but nothing showed up under the fault list. Will this be a job to bring to the Nissan garage just to see what parts I need? Would it be possible its the airbag ecu? Thanks in advance and hope someone can help me out.
Trevor
I would imagine it is a permanent fault if the light is on permanently. quite possibly it is not sensing one of the seats (or both) aren't connecting properly with the system. I would start by looking at the connections under the seats
airbag
Thanks Trevor, I checked the connections under the seat, someone was at the connections before the passenger seat must have been changed at some stage, there is no connector the wires were soldered together, appears well done, the wires joined together are different colours so has to be a different seat, just wondering with no proper connection present would this need to be redone? Trevor
All they would have done by the sound of it is to hardwire the connections which generally cause the SRS light to illuminate ... which is fair enough. However, if they are different seats they may have different resistance in the airbag/pretensioners which could be causing the light to illuminate?
