jimmyb1982 Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 (edited) JUKE 2012 Dci 1.5l - 3 sec delay in acceleration when moving into 1st gear and applying the accelerator I have a very odd problem which occurs rarely. As I step down gears when approaching a junction and move into 1st gear, I see the road is clear so I place my foot back onto the accelerator and find there is a delay in power - then after 3 secs it kicks in. It only happens at low speed and stepping down into 1st gear. Sometimes 2nd gear can feel a little slack. I used to drive a 2l BMW Z4 so I'm used to power and responsive acceleration so I'm wondering if I'm expecting too much. My mechanic can't seem to figure out the issue. He said there are no fault codes and we've cleaned the fuel out... Like I said, it's rare but happens and can be pretty scary as if onwards cars are coming towards you and the car isn't moving, then it's worrying. It's driving me insane. Can anyone help! Trevor Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 You could try a remap to see if this improves the situation. Relatively cheap and would improve the engine performance, drivability and economy
Neil J Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Hi, this is excatly what I am experiencing with my brand new Qashqai Tekna+ and it is driving me crazy too. Nothing showing up on diagnostics at the garage but to me this is a serious and dangerous fault. I can't believe this is normal driving for the car. Did you ever get to the bottom of it or get it diagnosed as a fault? I would be extremely interested to know how it panned out. Thanks, Neil
