K12 drivers door lock mechanism removal

2005 Micra and unable to open drivers door from the inside, managed to access lock all cables attached and when you pull the inside cable the lock does not release, the outside door handle works ok so guessing internal fault with mechanism itself.

now the challenge how to get the mechanism out, window mechanism is in the way and I cannot fathom out how to move it out of the way, any advice welcome

how did you get on with it?

I can imagine it was a pig of a job to remove the door lock latch mechanism
