Trevor
This is something you should refer to a garage in case it is a worn suspension or brake component which could be dangerous
ChrisKA
Thanks Trevor it’s weird as it’s been doing this since I bought the car 3 years ago it’s passed MOTs
Trevor
sometimes, pads that are loose in the caliper carrier (lack of fitting shims) can cause this noise. Also, suspension bushes which allow minimal amount of play can also cause a noise when braking. I would at least check the pads and also any mountings and bolts in the brakes and suspension
ChrisKA
Thanks Trevor the clicking sound is when stood still at lights etc. while I have my foot on the brake, when I release the brake pedal to pull away of put handbrake on the clicking sound goes.
